Facial liposculpture: chinline, cheeks, jowls and neck

For a few years now, it has been noticed that skin treated with superficial liposuction was able to retract and that it had no memory of the quantity of fat it had previously contained.

The liposculpture technique was born of these observations.

It is now possible to remodel the various fatty parts of the lower face, which are often responsible for a tired and sad appearance.

Surgery is simple

Using small 2-mm incisions that are practically invisible because they are located under the chin and on each side of the lower jaw, very fine tubes called cannulas are inserted under the skin and are used to remodel the fatty parts by suctioning out the unsightly excess fat.

If so desired, it is also possible to re-inject the suctioned fat into some areas where it is lacking.

Surgery and the postoperative period

The operation lasts 25 minutes, is carried out in the clinic and requires only three to four hours of hospitalisation.

The anaesthesia is of the potentialised local type (neuroleptic analgesia).

After surgery you must wear a chin support bandage for three days (24 hours a day). This support helps the tissues to retract.

There is usually very little blood and you may resume normal activity once the support bandage is removed, i.e. on the fourth day after surgery.

Swelling is slight and will be down 50% after one week, 80% after one month and will completely disappear within six to eight weeks.

This technique for remodelling the lower face is intended for those who find they have a certain slackening and/or thickening of the cheeks or even a double chin.
